The primary accountability will be SME with Electrical distribution system and equipment
Provide operational technical feedback to global electrical engineering and design group (GEMTE)
To proactively assist operation site business and commercial management in implementing systems, identifying key areas of opportunity, new issues and driving the businesses to fill any gaps.
In conjunction with other specialists, monitor agency rulemaking and analyse emerging regulations to determine impact on plant operations
To lead creation and implementation of applicable local/National standards, procedures, training, tools, audit questions and local documents based on local legal requirements and aligned to global work processes
Requirements
Electrical Engineering degree preferable with a chartered engineer qualification or equivalent and at least 20 years’ experience in an industrial operation engineering position.
Must be familiar with communications based on IEC-61850 MMS/GOOSE and Modbus TCP/IP as well as basic networking principles (ethernet, serial) to allow IEDs to communicate towards an upstream system that could be either electrical (EPMS) or part of the process controls (DCS)
Proven experience with inverters and Frequency Drives. Knowledge of ABB frequency ACS drives is a plus.
A background in the maintenance support and electrical engineering in a process industry environment, preferably in the industrial gases, oil, petrochemical, or chemical industries.
Proven knowledge and experience with condition-based monitoring equipment and predictive maintenance techniques on HV motor, HV transformers, HV /LV switchgear, and electrical drives
Proven experience in maintenance and testing of HV motors, HV transformers, HV and LV switchgear and secondary testing of protection relays.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are a major requirement for the job holder. Self-motivated and a high degree of personal responsibility for results.
Proficient in English, other languages will be a plus.
