Operations Projects are responsible for "Engineering" plant modifications and additions to our European plants, in liaison with specialist design sections, plant support engineers and plant management. These have values of between 20,000 Euro and 1,000,000 Euro.
"Engineering / supervision" involves developing project scopes from initial concepts through to construction, commissioning and handover. The piping engineer / supervisor is responsible for determining the best approach for each activity within the project and will be involved with all aspects of piping engineering, working with other Operation specialist disciplines and design groups, both within and external engineering companies.
Also included is writing specifications for construction contracts, placing them in conjunction with Procurement, overseeing the works, testing, commissioning and hand over to the Plant. Responsible for development of piping scope and design and completing to budget and schedule whilst maintaining the highest safety standards and ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance to procedures and standards.
The engineer / supervisor will be based in Botlek and will develop and execute projects in the Benelux area but most of the work will be executed at the plant facility in Botlek. The basic Process design will be provided by our Operations Process department. The work will involve coordination/managing of the engineering contractor on scope, project safety, budget, schedule and quality compliance.
Operations Project work is very different from working on a major green field site project. The jobs are smaller but fast moving thus successful completion gives a real sense of achievement. It is very demanding but also satisfying and enjoyable. No two jobs are identical.

Requirements
An Engineering Degree or equivalent in an appropriate branch of Engineering. (HTS or MTS+)
All candidates to have had over 5 years experience in a piping engineer / field engineer role in preferably chemical or petrochemical industry.
Has drawings skills with Autocad and familiar with 3D software
Knowledge of PED regulation and how to implement these in the projects are a must.
Experience in supervision of construction activities (supervision of contractors, permits etc.)
