Lead Engineer Piping Engineering

Responsibilities

• For a multinational in the Offshore industry, we are seeking an experienced Lead piping Engineer with a strong mechanical/piping background. This position demands a skilled professional who is familiar with handling multiple project simultaneously, possess excellent communication skills and is capable of leading technical efforts in an offshore environment.

Requirements

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 7-10 years of experience working for a fabrication, production, or engineering company.
• Experience in the manufacturing or engineering of mechanical components or assemblies, such as piping, valves, pumps, etc.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar type of position.
• Strong understanding about standardization of item , including creating part numbers and bills of materials.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and editing skills.
• A solution-oriented attitude with a well-developed sense of responsibility.
• Experienced in preparing specifications, reviewing quotations, and performing Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Skilled in translating customer requirements into detailed specifications and datasheets.
• Knowledge of materials and corrosion protection.
• Proficient in preparing various project deliverables, including:
  • Creating material take-offs using in-house software, such as SmartPlant Materials.
  • Developing datasheets, valve & components lists.
  • Drafting piping material specifications.
  • Creating coating specifications.
  • Drafting insulation specifications.
• Familiar with performing (final) inspections.
• Conversant with national and international codes such as ISO, ASME, API, EN, etc.
• Proficient in using software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Navisworks.
• Experienced in using SmartPlant Materials.
• Skilled in material budget estimation.
• Experienced in man-hour estimation.
