Lay Out Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and drafting of the Lay Out of a Green Hydrogen Plant;
• Develop a layout “from scratch” during the feasibility/concept stage
• Create a plot plan based on limited information and assumptions, and refine this as engineering definition matures;
• Apply all aspects influencing plot plan design, such as safety zoning, typical electrical, rotating and process equipment, explosive gas storage and loading facilities, site logistics, noise, design codes & standards, etc.;
• Effectively translate this knowledge into designs;
• Transfer this knowledge to fellow colleagues in general and Concept Development Team members in specific, and explain how these drive the Lay Out design;
• Explain the resulting plant Lay Out to external customers (Project Developers, EPC Contractors, Engineering Contractors);
• Delegate work to lay-out engineers based abroad;
• Review layout work performed by external engineering contractors;
• Develops with team members the way of working on projects, and guards the available and required engineering knowledge.

Requirements

• Has at least 5 years of experience with the development of Lay-Outs of large onshore plants, for example in the refining, oil and gas, industrial gases or chemical industries, including conceptual design, engineering and/or FEED stages;
• Is interested in pioneering in a rapidly developing industry and is self-driven, intrinsically motivated and committed to enabling the clean energy transition;
• Is a team player;
• Note: Candidates with experience in one of these aspects influencing plot plan design, for example from the piping discipline, and a willingness and interest to develop their experience in other areas, are also welcome to apply.
