Electrical Commissioning Test Engineer for MV/LV Equipment's

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand the scope and requirements.
  • Develop commissioning plans, including detailed procedures and schedules.
  • Testing of Medium Voltage Systems:
  • Perform insulation resistance testing and high-potential (Hi-Pot) testing on medium voltage cables.
  • Conduct primary and secondary injection testing on protective relays.
  • Test medium voltage switchgear for functionality, including breaker operations and interlock systems.
  • Perform transformer testing, including turns ratio, insulation resistance, and power factor tests.
  • Testing of Low Voltage Systems:
  • Conduct insulation resistance tests on low voltage cables and busbars.
  • Perform functional tests on low voltage switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panels.
  • Test and calibrate low voltage protective devices such as circuit breakers and fuses.
  • Verify the correct operation of automatic transfer switches (ATS) and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
  • Identify and diagnose issues such as insulation failures, incorrect wiring, and component malfunctions.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to analyze system performance and pinpoint faults.
  • Implement corrective actions, such as adjusting settings, replacing faulty components, and recalibrating devices.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports detailing the tests performed, results obtained, and any deficiencies identified.
  • Document modifications and corrective actions taken during the commissioning process.
  • Maintain accurate records of test equipment calibration and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to relevant safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC), and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Client Interaction:
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and constraints.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients during the commissioning process.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and solutions effectively to clients and project stakeholders.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting medium and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, power quality analyzers, and relay test sets.
  • Familiarity with software tools for relay configuration and analysis, such as SEL AcSELerator, Omicron Test Universe, or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • VCA VOL Certificate
  • External BA5 Certificate
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC)
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required
