Responsibilities

  • The commissioning engineer will be responsible during the project commissioning and early start up for a certain part of the project.
  • The commissioning engineer will follow up the precommissioning activities together with our Engineering contractor and coordinate together with the commissioning teams all efforts regarding commissioning and early start up.
  • In addition the role holder provides expert technical advice and will have a vital role in giving advice in specific commissioning-linked practices, including driving of the mechanical completion process, punchpoint generation & closure, priority setting etc.
  • The role holder is expected to coach and cooperate substantially with our integrated production & maintenance teams, as well as our EPCm precommissioning contractor. 
  • The commissioning engineer will
    • have a key role in organizing safe commissioning from pre-commissioning until normal plant operation
    • assist in preparation of manuals and procedures
    • ensure that quality standards and safety procedures are being followed during (pre-)commissioning
    • ensure that all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are carried out according to stated procedures and agreed schedule
    • punch out against pipe specs and equipment drawings, P&ID’s,…
    • assists in HSE assessments and PSSRs
    • support trouble shooting or technical investigations of specific commissioning- related plant problems in co-operation with the contractor, operation teams, discipline experts and vendors
    • be on call service could be necessary in certain phases of the project

Requirements

  • Graduated Engineer in chemical engineering or similar by experience
  • Strong background from process industry, commissioning and large projects
  • Commissioning expertise in cracker, PDH, utilities (steam boilers, gas and steam turbines, …) or similar environment strongly preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication skills.
  • Interest in working in an international/multicultural context.
  • Natural ability for trouble shooting activities
