Aveva Engineering Digital Solution Administration Specialist

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• As Senior AVEVA Engineering Application Specialist, you are responsible for the administration, configuration, support and continuous improvement of AVEVA engineering applications used within offshore and EPC projects.
• You ensure that applications such as AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Diagrams and AVEVA E3D, Marine or PDMS are correctly configured, integrated and available to Engineers and Designers.
• You work closely with engineering disciplines, Information Technology, Information Management and external application suppliers.
• Administer, configure and support AVEVA Engineering and AVEVA Diagrams.
• Support the administration and project set-up of AVEVA E3D, Marine or PDMS environments.
• Configure engineering databases, project structures, user access and application settings.
• Support P&ID development and the implementation of process design specifications.
• Evaluate and optimise P&ID and engineering design environments.
• Maintain and configure DABACON databases.
• Integrate engineering data between AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Diagrams, AVEVA E3D and third-party engineering applications.
• Set up and maintain AVEVA integration services.
• Develop additional application functionality using PML, C#, .NET and SQL.
• Manage and resolve issues involving engineering drawings, material take-offs, weights and other technical information from 1D, 2D and 3D environments.
• Analyse and improve collaboration between engineering disciplines through AVEVA applications.
• Provide frontline application support through the service desk, email and online collaboration tools.
• Investigate and resolve application issues within Citrix and Azure-based environments.
• Support application upgrades, migrations, patches and new project environments.
• Prepare procedures, standards, work instructions and troubleshooting documentation.
• Provide training and technical guidance to Engineers, Designers, P&ID Drafters and junior application administrators.
• Work with IT, Information Management and application suppliers to ensure the infrastructure remains fit for purpose.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience with engineering applications, including several years in an application administration or specialist role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA Engineering and AVEVA Diagrams.
• Experience with AVEVA E3D, Marine or PDMS project administration.
• Experience with engineering data integration across 1D, 2D and 3D environments.
• Knowledge of P&ID development and engineering design processes.
• Experience with PML and preferably C#, .NET and SQL.
• Experience with DABACON configuration and maintenance is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in Citrix and Azure environments is beneficial.
• Background in offshore, oil and gas, shipbuilding or complex EPC engineering projects.
• Able to troubleshoot complex application issues and translate engineering requirements into practical application solutions.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable working with engineering disciplines, IT teams and external suppliers.
