Work as a Local Material Data Steward – Marianne van den Iersel

My name is Marianne van den Ierssel and I work as a Local Material Data Steward. Together with a colleague, I create and manage part numbers in SAP. I also manage parts lists, which need to be linked to equipment numbers.

I was given the opportunity to sign a long-term contract with STAR, which was later converted into a permanent position. Because I have been working at BP for six years now, I have developed a good relationship with my colleagues and know the company really well.

What I like about working for STAR are the excellent terms of employment. The staff are fun and friendly and genuinely try to contribute to my career, and my consultant is always easy to get hold of. Also, there are always great Christmas parties and BBQs at STAR. I see STAR as a pleasant employer who really cares about and for its employees.

I like my job because my work is so varied. I have a lot of contact with my colleagues. Often, something needs to be physically checked in the warehouse in order to get an accurate equipment description, or to check that the supplied equipment matches what is in SAP. So I get around, too.
